Other Partnerships
FRCC plays an important role in facilitating community, industry and government partnerships to achieve improved natural resource management within the Fitzroy River and coastal catchments area.
Fitzroy Basin Association (FBA)
Fitzroy River and Coastal Catchments is a sub-regional group of the larger Fitzroy Basin Association and acts to some extent as our mother ship organisation. FRCC has a close working relationship with FBA who provides not only funding for FRCC to deliver to Landholders but technical support for FRCC staff and connection to other sub-regions in the FBA area.
Australian Government
Through Caring for our Country, including the Reef Rescue component, the Australian Government is funding FRCC (through FBA) to deliver a range of on-ground outcomes and water quality improvements. FRCC also benefits from various one-off grants from the Australian Government.
Queensland Government
Through Q2 Coasta and Country the Queensland Government is supporting FBA to improve community involvement in water quality issues, establish a monitoring program, and protect natural assets.
Local Government
We collaborate with regional councils to provide feedback on planning, deliver projects, and raise community awareness.
Local Governments in our region are:
Rockhampton Regional Council (RRC) FRCC has a Memorandum of Understanding with RRC that has been developed over the years to cement a long term partnership that aims to support and plan projects and works together that benefit the region. seamless.rrc.qld.gov.au/Home
Isaac Regional Council www.isaac.qld.gov.au/web/guest and Gladstone Regional Council www.gladstonerc.qld.gov.au/
Land Managers
Land Managers that work with FRCC contribute at least 50% of the value of the project being developed on their property, and in many cases they contribute much more in both cash and in-kind.
The Community
Without dedicated volunteer driven organisations, many natural resource management projects with a wider benefit wouldn’t happen that is why we support grassroots community groups.
GrowCom
GrowCom works with FRCC to promote and develop Funding projects for horticultural properties in the sub region. Grow Com project officers through support, advice and education help growerd access funding incentives for on-ground works with better water quality outcomes.
AgForce
AgForce’s Projects division and Training arm AgFoward offers a portfolio of field days, workshops, and correspondence courses to showcase technology and management practices and guide
landholders through industry challenges.
FRCC has supported and worked with AgForce to deliver information days to landholders in our Region and looks foward to continuing this partnership into the future.
